Kia ora friends!

After a long semester of hard work, it was time to venture far from Auckland and see more of the country. So, it seemed appropriate to do a trip of Northland! In the span of a 3 day road trip, friends and I traveled nearly 1200km. On day 1, we made our way from Auckland to Russell, Bay of Islands! Once there we wandered some of the beach and rock work and made our way to a local gem of the beach to swim. On day 2 we made our way to the Cape Reinga lighthouse, and Te Paki sand dunes (it was honestly kinda terrifying but stepping out of the comfort zone is healthy in my opinion). We finished day 2 by making our way down 90 Mile Beach and watching the sunset. The final day was spent on the morning at 90 Mile Beach, driving for several hours, and spending sunset at Piha Beach. I found this itinerary to give ample time to enjoy all the wonders we explored and I recommend taking a similar trip if the time arises!
